W600i using the internet when logging on to AIM

I had a lg phone before and when using aim I would only get charge for text messages. Now using the w600i It logs in to aim using the internet. Is there any way to change this?

It always worked that way but if your phone wasn't properly updated with the info then thats when errors occur like that with your LG, when the W600i was activated is was uploaded with the current information.

here's the way it works, if your device has a built in IM client, you only pay for text messages, if you have to log in to the media net to IM, then you're charged for data transfer. I can't remember if the W600i has an IM client built into the menu.

they both already have built in im clients. When I log in the globe icon comes up which means I am using the net. With the lg that would not come up. Any one knwo how to fix this please?
