Just wondering if anyone else has magically had a change in their plans. As of April first I no longer had a text messeging plan. I didn't change it, somehow how it changed. Anyone heard of this happening? I have since changed it back, just really odd.
Are you on a cingular plan, or are you on a old "att wireless" plan?Needs some details

I'm on the cingular plan. I actually upgraded in early march. I had the max text messages for 19.99 and then a few days ago i noticed i wasn't getting any texts. at first i thought it was because i was uncool but then i called cingular and they told me my plan had been changed on april 1st. who knows
yep. you got your plan changed and the system defaulted to text pay per use. it should not have happened, but the rep that changed it probably overlooked it and pay per use comes with all plans. it should have been deleted from the plan change...

When my account was switched over to the new billing system recently, I was given 2600 "bonus minutes." Now my plan shows 3300 bonus minutes. I'm not complaining, but does anyone know what's up with that? I'm a blue business customer. I called customer service and the person simply said they were doing that for blue customers. Sounded strange, but I didn't ask for any detail - didn't think she knew much about it.

Yup and this is where it really gets interesting. These are placing this as "future compensation" reason is that a lot of features, that were available in the old blue billing system is not available anymore.
Not just these but are some examples of changes:

So, are you saying that these bonus minutes would be added on to any comparable Cingular plan that I might migrate to, as an incentive to migrate? They'd just be added to the number of minutes in the new plan? I wonder how low I could go in the number of minutes that I'd have to buy in a new play. With 3300 bonus minutes, I wouldn't need too many more. I'm guessing if I have a 74.99 blue plan, a new plan might need to be around that rate. ??
No,no,no,no.Thats NOT what i was saying. What i was saying was that those bonus minutes were added on to the converted to avoid things like overage, because you would be getting prorated from the old billing system to the new billing system,Also ...

I don't think I'll migrate any time soon. We all have unlocked phones from Motorola - not ATT, so we're good. Unless some new feature comes out that we just HAVE to have, we'll remain blue.
Thanks for the info!

Oh, okay. I was confused because when I look at my plan online, all those stacked promotion minutes are still there. I mean, they're still listed on my plan, along with the bonus minutes. It doesn't matter - I'll NEVER use all the minutes I have, no matter what. The bonus minutes are way more than the promo minutes - I always end up with tons of extra minutes. I somehow was given a ton of extra promo minutes a long time ago. My plan is good without them.

I won't migrate because of other parts of my plan, not the minutes we use. We have a sharable text messaging plan - 1,000 text messages for 19.99. It works well for us. We're not each set for a specific number of mesages. I might text more one month, my son might text more the next. It's split between the 4 of us. Plus, nights begin at 7:00. I have nothing against orange plans; it's just that my blue plan works best for how we use our phones. We don't need internet on our phones - at all. My kids text a lot; talk a lot at night; and don't use a lot of anytime minutes. Our blue plan is the best thing ...

That was my point about the bonus minutes. I had a huge cushion of promo minutes anyway. I'll never use the bonus minutes - ever.
I NEVER go over my minutes, by the way. NEVER. I've made sure for years that I have the right plan as far as minutes go. I don't over-pay, either, because of the promo minutes I've always managed to get. It's a good plan for me, and has been for quite some time. No complaints.
Thanks again!
Laura
Well first there are no more promotions for mimutes. So those go out the window, and in case no one told you, the rules for nights and weekends are different now.If you start a call before 7pm and continue past 7 pm it all comes out of your daytime minutes...

Good grief! I understand! I get it...can't add anything to a blue plan. That's very old news. I've got news for you, blue customers always used anytime minutes for call that began before 7:00 and ran past 7:00 - even if the call originated at 6:59. That's nothing new, at all.

Well on the last part we can agree on, on the old billing system, if you started a call at 6:58 pm then made that last 20 mines, first 2 would have been peak minutes, after 7pm the nights and weekends kicked in,check your call details on your invoice if you made any calls overlap that timeframe.
It was supposed to ...
