duplicate sim cards

I have heard it is possible to have 2 sim cards for one phone number, is that true?
If so where do I get the second one?

I am wanting to have 2 phones with the same number on them, Like a PDA phone for work and a small carry around phone for weekends, but I do not want to constantly swap the sim card from one phone to the next.

I will not be using both phones at the same time.

Any help would be appreciated.
thanks Kevin

There is no way (at least that i know of) to get two different sim cards with one number. Really, if you're wanting to use two different phones with one number, you would just have to take the sim card out of phone and put it in the other when you wished to use that device. I dont recommend it though, b/c people who do that seem to go through sim cards rather quickly, they're not made for the wear and tear of removing/replacing them from various devices on a regular basis.

I'm not sure what the rules are pertaining to that here in the USA but it's popular in Europe.

I dont know if sim cloning is "legal" in the US, but I know Cingular will shut you off and cancel service if two sims of the same number try and access the network. It's a cheapskate way of paying money for one phone but having 2 people use it.

Consider that it also protects you against fraud. It would be incovenient if that second person was doing so without your knowledge. Better to have it prohibited.
