call XBM. They can replace it for you. Just don't tell them you dropped it.
Bad Advice unless you wanna pay the guys phone bill. They actually you know take the phone apart to repair ir.It may be fine that you can tell from the outside. They can tell from the inside thats its been dropped, carpet or not.
The difference is that they will chargeback you for the cost of the phone for voiding the warranty.on the SLVR you are looking at about $250.00 chargeback on the account within 90 days from you doing warranty.

You are incorrect. XBM exchanges the most RIDICULOUS of situations. They do refurbish it, AFTER the fact. You get a new phone before they even get yours. Minor scratches are normal wear and tear. And dropping the phone (esp on carpet) will not ruin the earpiece. It's a well known fact that motorola earpieces are prone to failure. XBM will know exactly what you are talking about and send you a new one.
Thats right, and then they tech the phone out after the replacement has been sent.Since it was physical damage, inside the phone is where it counts, then they perform a chargeback for the phone they sent out as a replacement.

well i drop where there is carpet, and the phone looks new and everything works pefect and they dint offer insurance for the slvr
Doesn't matter how it looks on the outside. They take the phone apart to tech it and repair it, they will see inside physical damage.Carpet or concrete, when you drop the phone parts gets jostled or damaged inside the phone.
When they tech it out and see the problems due to physical damage, you get chargedback for the replacement cost of that phone. For the SLVR is about $250.00 and gets added to your account within 90 days of filing a warranty exchange. It's your warranty that came in your manual.
Be prepared and you'd have no one to blame for it.

well thanks to all of you , i just found out i have had the phone for 26 days so i can go and get an exchange. i also have 11 month warranty wiht cingular as long as is not physical damage. For people wanting to buy the slvr and have had the gsm razor the earpice volume is lower, but the phone is great.
You will get chargedback for it.Remember when you return it, it has to be returned in the EXACT SAME CONDITION you received it in.You are not and you will get chargedback for it.

Yeah i am, good thing too. I get at least 3 calls a week for some dumba** who thinks they will never never know i dropped it, or they will never know know i got it wet. They actually take the phones apart and tech them to see the cause. They do go back within 90 days to chargeback the cost of the phone when its determined the cause for the malfunction is deemed to be abuse, accidental or not.
Ever read post her or in other threads, why did i receive a charge for equipment on my invoice, i didn't order anything.Thats why

If he returns it at the store and a rep does an exchange, it is not checked the same way as if he went through warranty. If something is wrong with the phone and sales rep overlooked it, then warranty writes it off, as does Cingular... Sales reps cannot take apart the phone, which is one of the reasons they removed techs from the store. Once a phone is opened, the warranty is voided from the manufacturer. Other carriers may do this, but they are assuming the resp...
