Hello all!

I am so glad I found this site, and wish I had done so earlier!!

I am looking for some answers and advice and am hopeful that I will get some answers.

I have a Nokia 6010, that is new and came from Cingular. It was sent to me because I was thinking about getting a plan with them, but decided to stay with what I have for now.

I charged the phone up, and inserted the SIM card which was on a card and needed to be punched out to insert.

My dilemas are centered around wanting to sell the phone on ebay, and providing correct and accurate info. I have spent too much time searching for answers and still do not feel confident in my findings/ interpretaion.

I have several questions about the SIM card.

I wouldn't sell it, there is nothing free in this world. What will end up happeinig is that the phone will end up being charged back to you.Trust me i get at lewast 2 or calls a month on that stuff. I'd send it back to where it came from.
That being said when they go to activate it the sim card will show up in your name and same as the IMEI # (serial number on your handset) and thats when you endup seeing the chargeback.

I'd honestly tell you best bet is to return it.

So you were given a free phone from Cingular but decided against keeping the service? You need to return the phone to avoid being charged for the handset. Sorry, but it is not yours to keep.

I checked into the cost we are charging back on that device, i got told $89.99, hopefully if they sell it they make at least that much to break even.

Just for clarification, if Cingular sent you the Nokia, then you must of started a new plan with Cingular, right? Either a regular plan or a Go Phone plan? You can only keep the phone if you stay with your Cingular plan. Otherwise you have to return the phone or you will be billed the retail cost that Cingular determines on their end. I'm pretty sure you had to give your credit card info to get the phone, so you will be charged. You have 30 days to close out the account and return the phone.

As for the SIM card (it is new), it is coded to your specific info for this new account. You will have to throw it away or destroy it.
