My plan with Verizon Is up In a few days, and I want 2 switch 2 Cingular. I went their 2 day 2 check out the phones and plans. I asked the guy when the razr v3i was coming out, he said not for awhile. But everybody Is telling me end of april/may. I wanted 2 know if the guy didn't know what he was talking about, basically I want to know when its coming out

The guy at Cingular is telling you what he knows for now. I bought the v3i unlocked because I was tired of waiting for Cingular to release their version. I've been waiting for months and have heard all the folowing:

First it was said to be released the last week of April 06, then it was delayed to May 06. Now I hear it is a summer promo. It already shows up on Cingular's website that it will be insured on their insured phones list, but they aren't selling the phone yet. Some that work at Cingular see that is on their list of phones to be available soon, but nobody will know until it actually happens.

Someone really needs to get on the ball and give a date for this. This whole topic is getting ****ing ridiculous.

Here's what we have, to the best of our knoledge. (from mobiledia.com)

Both the V3i and the V3m will be released 3rd Qurater. Spring/Summer.

I think Cingular is doing this to put an edge on Verizon. Releasing similar phones at around the same time.

If they wanted the edge on Verizon they should have launched the V3i with the V3c.

As of now, it's slated for may 30th. Check out your local store... the price should have dropped today for the razr that is currently available.

My market has a device roadmap that lists the new phones, and when they are expected to launch.. If you check in a store, the prices for the v3 razr and the slvr L7 dropped over the weekend..

True. I've been hearing a lot of "May 30ths" around here for the V3i. COR stores apparently got the pricecard in for it, 299.99 on 2YR 399.99 retail.

I don't know about the price.. I only post prices after they are changed in the stores.

Yea it is market based... but it's the current pricing in my market.

I guess I can add a little hearsay 🙂

I went to a Cingular store last week and asked our favorite question: when will the V3i come out. He started to give a non-answer of the form "It could be next week, it could be next month, it could be never, what can I interest you in today?" But when I said I wasn't going to buy a phone today, he said that Cingular was still "pushing lots of Razrs" at him, so he thought it might be a few weeks at least (he guessed June).

I asked about his idea of how much it would cost, and we went through the same bit of salesmanship ("The Razr was a $500 phone when it first came out.") But I mentioned that I could log on and get an unbranded phone on the web for between $300 and $325, so I felt certain ...

Nah.. .it's gonna be a lil higher than that... I won't give an exact price, but it will be higher than that after rebate. (not rumor) 😁 😲
