I hear that t-mobile (in the near future), falling in line with alltel, is going to add the unlimited calling to any 10 numbers from any carrier....seems like a good idea to me. Is Cingular going to offer anything like that?

Nope... not to ANY numbers... A handful of markets have been testing free calling to an SBC(at&t) landline number for some time now.

Why would Cingular need to add 10? Cingular offers free calling to 55.8 million people.

yeah that's what I was thinking.

SunCom offers the 10 freebies, now AllTel.

Let's see.. call 10 people free, or call 55 million free? I think out of 55 million I can come up with more than 10 people I know who use Cingular.

This calling circle thing is the biggest joke I've seen in awhile.

well not everyone has cingular.....hence the reason for multiple carriers in the US. So YES it does make sense, because it would be nice to be able to call other people (friends/family) that are not with cingular.

If they aren't with Cingular, they aren't my friends.

A joke?? I totally disagree. It doesn't necessarily have to be 10 but 5 would be nice. Not everyone you or I know is on Cingular, so that would be great if they did that, but unless the other major carrier (VZW) does it, I dont look for Cingular too either.

It's kinda like an old plan att wireless had about 7-8 years ago, you would give a list of like 5 numbers whether it wireless or landline you could call them for unlimited usage. They had it for about 3 months but it phased out because the company was losing their shirt on the deal, since lots of businesses were doing it and racking up 1000's of minutes free for very little plan cost.

If anything i could see them doing soemthing like that maybe like 3-4 numbers for landline numbers but them being either SBC/BellSouth/att only.

I don't need to call 55.8 million people. I just need to call a few. Most of my calls are within my own limited number of contacts. Right now my immediate family is on my shared plan, and the same carrier that I use, so the calls to them are not an issue.

But, I have four or five people that I use a lot of minutes for. Two of those numbers are landline numbers (both numbers are for my 2nd job, and I work from home and call those numbers more than any other numbers) and the rest are mobile phones on two different carriers. It would be very convenient to me to have a plan that would let me choose to have unlimited calls to those people.

In the interest of disclosure, I'm a T-Mobile rep. The rumors of T-Mobile adopting this is not...

It's funny......every T-Mbile rep I talk to brags about how many minutes they have for so little a month. That is strange that you are "worried" about minutes.

Whether you are directly or indirectly employed with T-Mo, you shoulg get a free or some type of employee plan. I am wondering why you have a FT plan.

As for the unlimited 10 numbers, I guess that is something that I don't need to worry about, as 95% of my friends and family are on Cingular. To be fair, I have an old college roomate who has the old 3000 minute plan with 5 state calling area. I can see ehy he wouldn't want to switch even though he uses less than half of those minutes.

I guess it would be cool if other carriers adopt this plan. Happy selling.

I honestly didn't come in here to be negative. I chose not to have the employee plan because I really like my Family Plan, and I don't have an employee multi-line account available. I've had T-Mobile for a few years, and like it. It works well for me. *shrug*

If T-Mobile adopts the circle plan, I'll be ablee to reduce our rate plan and save a little extra money. With a teenager who is getting ready for college, every little bit counts.

The only reason I mentioned I was a rep for T-Mobile was because I didn't want anyone to click on my name and declare I was trying to start something. I honestly wish for our customers that T-Mobile had the coverage Cingular does. That having been said, in my area, it's not an issue for me. I've ne...

*nods* I really like helping with Cingular and selling their phones after seeing the change in coverage they made in a year or so.

I havent read anything on this yet, but may update if I do. I know Cingular doesn't do this, but they already have free calling to 54 million people nationwide.

I hate saying this, but from what I've read, no other carrier seems to have that..at least..to that extent.

On the other hand I do know Sprint has an Unlimited calls plan.

Quest, a Sprint daughter company, apparently has the option to call your house for free, granted its a Quest landline. (not sure on this after reading that they are migrating customers to Sprint.)
