UMTS through a router?

Does anyone know if there would be a way to use cingulars data connect, but be able to plud it into a router? As soon as UMTS is available here in the sacramento market, I will definitely consider dropping my ATT/SBC DSL. I mean yeah they say Ill give it to you for 14.99/mo but you have to have to have home phone service and long distance through them to get it that cheap. Cost wise there wouldnt really be that big of a difference, but Im still considering it because I would have truly wireless freedom with my laptop! So back ot my original question. I would like to use UMTS as my primary connection for my 3 other computers but am not quite sure how to share the connection amongst them.

Could always get one of Cingular's wireless PC cards for your laptop with their Laptop connection package. Then use Internet Connection Sharing through your laptop?

Otherwise a data cable to hookup your phone to your laptop, a laptop connection package, then ICS?

Though I see it's $80/month for unlimited data. Seems there is a special in my area for $60/month for a limited time. Otherwise the next lowest is $50/month for 50MB of data and it just goes down from there.

Hmmm.. I never thought about ICS 😛 . I havent used that in many years! Guess that could work untill a UMTS compatible router or something comes out. Ive seen some EVDO routers on the market so I dont see why not. it should be 59.99 for me since I have a plan with them currently and I'd just add a new line for dedicated data, unless i have to add it to my phone which would kinda suck.... hafta switch the sim in and out of the device 🙄
