TDMA gone?

i noticed there arnt any tdma phones listed under cingular. has cing stopped selling TDMA?

Yes, although we do still support it. Not sure if that's nationwide, but we stopped selling TDMA in December here in the Boston market.

I'm in NC and it looks like I'm just about to come onboard with Cingular. I asked this same question in my job interview and according to my potential future manager Cingular is going exclusively to GSM and has already stopped selling TDMA phones. But the TDMA service to the phones that are already out there will continue for as many years as it takes to get all of them over to GSM.

Thats right, there are no plans to turn off TDMA spectrum that I am aware of. Most likely there will be a turning DOWN of spectrum as more TDMA customers make the change.
