i appologize!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello Moto

Apr 28, 2006, 9:44 PM
I will say it first (i think) that i appologize to the entire verizon customer base and to the company itself for statements made about how they handle bluetooth...

Cingular recently launched the LG CG300 with bluetooth and disabled OBEX profile...

i hang my head... please join me for a moment of silence. 😢

This after that lawsuit against them about this. (Which I heard about from Verizon Sales people.)

Apparently they won that with some excuse of protecting some program that cannot be accessed by bluetooth. (As read in Verizon Forums.) or something or rather.

Makes me believe, once again, they disable OBEX to make ppl buy things from their Get-It-Now...you know..to make more money. (So far..only smartphones have OBEX, which is a default. Any other way is some PC Cables and software.)

Verizon doesn't have OBEX on the E815 as well, I tried to do a file transfer with that phone and it said no.

According to "my" Verizon sales person, only the Verizon smart phones have OBEX. I'm only relaying what he told me.

As for Cingualr, almost all the bluetooth phones I came across have OBEX.

Is it on LG's website that it DOES have OBEX? Maybe LG chose to not have OBEX, not Cingular disabling the feature. It is LG's first BT handset with Cingular.

Again this is what she said, he said. Without any proof this means nothing.

Yeah man that is some weak sauce. I just tried it and it didn't work. I had no idea OBEX was disbabled. To be honest though I was surprised this thing had bluetooth at all... Is OBEX something that requires more space or power usage in the phone? Maybe it just couldnt handle the feature?

*shrugs* leaves me questioning as well..somone on the Verizon Forum said to check the LG website, cuz LG was responsible for the OBEX being disabled.
