Cingular 8125 Question
I have also posted this in the HTC 8125 forum hoping someone out there can help me out....
I work for a Cingular agent (the largest agent in my market). Last week our boss held a meeting and informed all 60 of us that he is giving us our choice of a data phone. He is wanting us to learn how to use Cingular's data program so we are more familiar with it when that customer comes along.
I have played with the BB 7100g and the 8700, the Cingular 2125 and the 8125, the Treo 650, and the Nokia 6682 to see which one I wanted to go with. After much research and frustration involved, I think I've decided to go with the Cingular 8125.
First off, let me say I absolutly LOVE this phone. I think it's a great phone and has more than I could...

hey man. since this phone is a pda with internet explorer it is always going to be connected once you have visited a webpage to my knowledge. I was formerly with att now cingular and have used smartphones since there debut and have also owned the siemens sx66 and now the 8125.
the only way to my knowledge to exit the internet fully is to go to start--settings---then systems tab---and click on memory. from there click on the running programs and stop internet explorer from the running programs list. keep in mind that if you have any programs installed that require constant updates from the internet like xpress mail then you'll need to uninstall it because its designed to auto update from the net.

Thanks I'll give that a try. My boss said he is working with Cingular to see if there is a way we can get unlimited data on our phones for that reason. If not, then he will comp us for whatever our overage is. 🙂

Does it automatically connect to the network whenever you turn it on? I would say just put it in Airplane Mode (or offline, or whatever) when ever you're done with the internet. I also work for Cingy & have the employee plan w/5mb included. Of course, if I had that phone, I'd just have the data blocked from the network & use the wifi.

i don't know if employee plans are market specific but we just got new plans 5000 min unlimited mms/text/data.ask your rep if they are available to you.
