Can I port to Cingular through Amazon.com?

Hi,

I'm thinking about switching from Verizon to Cingular. Amazon.com usually offers sweet deals on the phones, but it is not clear whether (or how to) port my existing number from Verizon when I sign up for a new Cingular service through Amazon.com. Has anyone done that before? I'd appreciate any advice.

Thanks.

2) Cingular telesales: Yes, you can port your number from your previous provider at any time by going to a store, and there is no charge (ok, sounds good, but see #3 below).
3) Cingular store: No, you cannot port your number if your phone was activated via a third-party reseller. ...
