THE BOX

May 7, 2006, 1:03 AM
Ok let me say this leaving a coverage area or being in a ****ty coverage area and the call ending is not a dropped call ! those are known as gaps in service . I work in a call center and we have a program that shows call process failure and 99.9999999 percent of people that call and say that there dropping calls are not .
driving through hilljack boondock bfe usa and loosing signal is not dropping a call its all in the service agreement
WE DO NOT GARUNTEE SERVICE IN ALL AREAS !

Keep in mind, however, that satellite phones do not work reliably inside large, heavily built structures, where they are frequently shielded from their satellite network (which is why we put our TV satellite dishes up high on our houses).
But, yeah, in addition to that, you will also need some serious coin..

So what do you call it when a call garbles up, disappears, and drops right in the middle of a city where users of other service providers right next to you have perfect service????? Dont give us the corporate-fed legality talk bc fact of the matter is that the service has been getting worse and worse. And of course service is not guaranteed everywhere, but where it used to be great is now degraded, there is no excuse.

Blue to Orange, I'm assuming you are a ex-ATT customer. I actually work for Cingular and my job is to actually go around town wherever you travel and take down towers. Yes that is right. I WANT your service to get worse, that way you can come in and call all my sales reps bad names and not be able to control your temper like an adult. I sneak out in the middle of the night and slowly turn down the power on all towers in your surrounding areas. In fact, somedays when its slow, I'll drive around town behind you turning off towers just so you do not get any signal at all. Either that or you are a cheap bastard and "bought" the free phone be it the v180/220 or c1300 or x427. You also realize that the phone has nothing to do with reception. Just...

That explains the commercial. They may have the fewest dropped calls. that is not counting loss of service, no service, or calls the end due to something else that is not "technically" dropping calls. Meanwhile verizon is stillthe most reliable network which means they have the fewest calls ending due to any problem. Thanks for this information BOX now i know what to tell those customers that come in here asking why Cingular is advertising fewest dropped calls.

This is nothing but another brilliant wording scheme by Cingular. Just like adding GO and TRAC phones to your net add count.

Raising the bar, and adding more fine print, Cingular.

Verizon does this too...the only problem is, they suck in both the prepaid and wholesale areas. 😉
