I have a question for you. Is there a way to do a field test similar to how you can do on TDMA handsets to determine what system a phone is camping on? Let me know if you need elaboration.

No You cannot do that on GSM. You can run field test on TDMA and GAIT but not GSM.

If you do some seem editing and activate the engineering menu on GSM motorolas, I remember seeing something in there about a field test or something. What does it do?
