Cingular phones vs. VZW phones

I've been a VZW customer and a Cingular customer since I've owned a cell phone. I noticed that all my VZW phones would get hot after about 10 minutes of talk time and really hot after 30-50 minutes of talk time during a conference call.

As for Cingular, the phones I've had with them never got hot during brief usage or even long conf. calls. The models I had for both varied from Samsung, LG, Nokia.

I also noticed (wondered if anyone notices this too) that with Verizon, after medium amount of usage during the day, I would get headaches (not severe, just enough to be discomfort). Anyone notices?

I've read other postings that the CDMA technology from VZW is the cause of the phones getting hot, vs. the GSM technology.

cdma doesn't cause the phones to get hot over gsm!

what makes you cdma phone get hot is the way its built. i wont get into explaining it to much (cuz i'll be typing forever) but cdma phones have pcb boards in them. these pcb boards in CDMA phones control everything from the phones lighting, signal, etc, etc.....while this one board controls so many features it will get hot.

now in gsm phones we to have pcb boards. its just these phones are constructed so there are fewer uses to the pcb board by the addition of SIM cards control the actulal signal and linking to the network. this saves transfer of power to and from the pcb board.


as fas as this cdma headace thing you speak of. i did notice when i used analog cdma service and even...

i like gsm phones better. the chipset allows them to have a better shape, style, and size.

but i think the times are catching up as they have figured how to make razr-size cdma phones.

however, i still like the maneuverability gsm gives me

Really, if the carrier has a good strong network, that factor shouldn't matter. Just a thought.

thats very understood. i use both i have plans with cingular, vzw, tmobile and sprint. and i alsways fall more toward using my cingular phone. (even while i was employeed by an agent that sold everyone but cingular 😉 )
