Cingular policy

What will Cingular do for a long term customer who has been out of contract for about two years but has been having consistent service issues due to the switch to Cingular from AT&T? This person is thinking of canceling but wants to give them one more chance.

Nearly every carrier offers incentives upon renewal of contracts or upon new service. Sounds like this person feels that they should get something more. If you have problems with the service, they may offer you a different handset but if at that point you still have trouble then your best bet is to switch.

Don't expect anything for free unless you get a really low-end phone. The most they will probably do is give you a substantial discount on an upgrade if you renew or switch out the handset you have now for one of equal or lesser value.... if you choose not to renew.

Well, if he has been out of contract for 2 years AND signed a one or two year to begin with does that mean they have a 3 to 4 year old phone? That could be the problem right there.

More information is needed to determine what could help his problem. As far as what they will do for them, they will offer a new phone at a two year discount price if they sign a two year agreement. A store could also see if they are already in a targeted anti-churn campaign. There is a VIP list on which we would find their number should they qualify. It usually adds another $50 to the discount they receive on a two year agreement.
