That Cingular had never started the whole "Fewest dropped calls" campaign. I'm sure that I'm joined by all the sales reps here in pulling my hair out over the responses that I get from these ads.

While the ads themselves are clever and whatever ad exec that thought them up should be commended, they set false expectations.

By saying "we have the fewest dropped calls" people automatically assume that they will have NO dropped calls. As a rep I know that this is, of course, not the case since the cell phone has not been invented yet that does not drop a single call ever.

If I had a dollar for every time I hear something to the effect of:
"I thought Cingular had the fewest dropped calls....My phone drops calls all the time!!!"

oh, no....for the most part MY customers don't complain cause I try to keep them out of samsungs, lgs, and little cheap crap like that. It's the people who have bought from other stores and just happen to drop into mine on the way home after seeing those damned commercials. I swear some people just wanna rub in the fact that the phones do actually drop calls....as if the ads were saying that we never drop one.

thats very true. i normally reply with a smart@$$ comment like: maybe if you held you phone tighter you wont drop it and the call.

or my favorite: but with (insert carrier here) how many calls did you drop with them. they reply with none or stupid comment. i'll say then why didnt you port back in you 30 day trial period? 😳
