Joining cingular tomorrow!!!!!
hey everyone, i am joining Cingular tomorrow and was basically thinking along the lines of getting a free phone now and i am deciding between the razr and nokia 6102i. out of these two phones which one do you guys think you would get??? the reason i am getting a free phone now is that i will either wait for better phones to come out later or i might be traveling to europe this summer so might pick up a good phone from there unlocked and bring it back. also if someone has another phone they can think of that is really good i would like to hear about it. so i want to see what phone you guys would get tomorrow if you were me.

Personally, I'd lean towards the RAZR because I am a Motorola fan.
I'm sure that statement will atract all the Nokia lovers and the RAZR haters to bash my post, but that's just too bad.
In all honesty, from what I have seen, that is a solid Nokia phone, and would be a close second.

i live in new york, i know verizon is the best i have been with them for 5 years but i am sickof there phone selection. my family has cingular my brother says the service is as good as verizons plus i get more otions with phones. my roomatehas tmobile itis horrible here even in new york city but he keeps itcuz he is fromtexas and tmobleworks well there. now instead of bashing services can someone give me a good opinion one a phone thanks.

the razr is quad-band so roaming over seas in europe wont be a problem.
the nokia as all nokia's are seamless.
i myself would recommend you tak a good look at the sony ericsson z520. its bluetooth, camera, not really a problem phone, has a call manager 🤤 , great battery life, and great reception factor.

I ALSO LIVE IN NEW YORK CITY AND GET THE JUST AS GOOD SERVICE AS VERIZON AND I HAVE TMOBILE THAT IS THE LAST THING 😉 I AM GOING TO SAY GO WITH VERIZON OR TMOBILE. GREAT PHONE WOULD HAVE TO BE THE RAZR,MDA,VCAST PHONES ARE ALL GOOD,T809, MOTOROLA PEBL, AND NOKIA 6103.

I've been both a Verizon and Cingular customer back and forth. I have to give Cingular the edge b/c of rollover minutes. I think both networks are the same. You can't be 100% perfect everywhere and both carriers have flaws and strengths.
As for the phones, I really have a strong opinion about this. I just think the Razrs are nice looking, but that's about it. Nokia 6102 is much better in quality, service, reliability, reception, functionality, etc.
If you want to make a fashion statement and have a crappy unreliable phone, go with the Razr.
If you want a nice looking flip phone (not as sexy as the Razr) but better quality and reliability, then go with the Nokia 6102.

thanks a lot for the post and opinion. i am sorry to let you know i got the razr, but i am only holding on to it until a new phone comes out i am also banking on the nokia 6126 or 6282 coming out sometime this month. since i am new i have 30 days to return or exchange the phone, so hopefully one of those two phones comes out within this next month so i can return the razr and get one of them instead. thanks for your opinions.
