I am excited to have Cingular come into MN. They already have more coverage than T-Mobile (my current provider)has. Anyone know when they are coming into Minnesota. Plus Cingular's phones far pass on anyone else's it seems to me. Any feedback would be great!

should be by year's end, if the FCC gets off their @$$es and approves the takeover. And, the name will stay Cingular. AT&T's being absorbed, it's not a 'merger'.

The AT&T Wireless name will be Cingular's to use for a few months, then will revert to AT&T Corp. The combined company will be known as Cingular. The FCC and Department of Justice have to finish their work, which most analysts seem to think will be done by October. Once that happens we can begin the job of combining the assets gained in the buyout.

As it stands right now, ATTWS and Cingular must remain two separate companies, and continue to compete. Cingular can only use information that is in the public domain to plan the next steps. We will not have full access to all their information until the buyout is approved.

This is why it seems things are slow to be released detailwise. We don't know either! lol

Cingular has been here before, and both sides of the deal are playing by the rules. Estimate is generally still by sometime in October, but we'll know when we know...lol

The Department requested the information in conjunction with its review of Cingular’s proposed acquisition of AWE.

Many of the industry analysts cited in the articles said that they do not believe these requests pose an impediment to gaining regulatory approval of the deal. For example, Communications Daily reported the following comments from Rudy Baca, an analyst with The Precursor Group.

“I don’t think it’s unusual for the Department to actually ask other competitors in the market for information, especially when they di...
