Cingular and T-Mobile
Does anyone believe Cingular will eventually buy T-Mobile? Or is T-Mobile too much to swallow at this point or in the near future since Cingular (ATT) has its hands full with the Bell South purhcase?
I read a different posting on another board that (more a prediction from someone than rumor or fact) Cingular/AT&T will buy T-Mobile, and change their name to AT&T Mobile to reflect the new wireless giant....That would be something....
...
I really hope not cause I hate Cingular and love T-Mobile and that would just mean more poor cell phone service.
...
It would never happen. The FCC would never approve it and if they did, Cingy would have to sell off the majority of the spectrum that they covered. On another note, why would they want them anyway. TMo does not have anything to really offer Cingy.
...
T- Mo is not defined by the US market,
anyway their a intro to GSM then cingular picks up the service range.
With the amount of numbers I port they don't need to.
Unless T- mobile does something unique and huge they will be wading in the shallow end for a while.
...
I really hope not because all of my co-workers and I would quit our jobs because none of us would ever work for Cingular.
...
Probably won't happen...this would in effect cause prices to sky-rocket on GSM since there is no major competition for Cingular.
Market forces would cause people to leave Cingular since they have no competitive reason to hold prices low...
...
Unlikely.
Chief of Deutsche Telecom has not indicated an interest in selling the US mobile subsidiary and analysts agree because T-Mobile USA is the fastest growing part of Deutsche Telecom. If DT was going to sell any part, T-mobile USA would be the last part unless somebody offered an obscene amount of money.
