PTT vs. text messaging
ptt or txt,
i have a samsung d407 and it has ptt(didnt activate it yet cuz i have no one to ptt with, yet)
ptt could be a great alternative to txt plus it could be cheaper than txt minus the 9.99 a month(CINGULAR DOESNT HAVE AN UNLIMITED TXT PLAN, NOT THAT I KNOW OF!)
and if anyone has ptt, what is your opinion of it and experience
so go with text 👀
trust me i wont be one of those nextel idiots that has their speaker on 500 decibels screaming to tha top of their lungs into the phone while "chirping" but our ptt has way better features than sprintnextel

your right about the benefits towards business but i think it could be beneficial towards the family or teenage demographic, the thing i like about it is that if you have a quick message to tell someone you dont have to waste time calling someone but you can do that w/ txt as well across carriers

now i do like our buddy list etc.. and i think over all its a solid feature we have.. now i can "sell" the fact that our phones aren't Vin Diesel and can take a beating.. what a challenge ...

* Silent - people dont have to hear your conversation and if you are discreet you can use it in meetings, school, etc.
* Works between carriers - you can send sms to pretty much anyone. Even to other countries.

text has two big advantages over ptt in my opinion:
* Silent - people dont have to hear your conversation and if you are discreet you can use it in meetings, school, etc.

PTT has the option to use the feature just like a normal phone call. Silently, without the churp. However people can still hear "you" talking, unless you whisper......"and the pickles....the pickles....." *Dane Cook*
