I'm looking for a new carrier, and I don't know which one to choose. I'm looking to switch from Nextel and I've narrowed my decision down to Cingular or Verizon. Please provide any insight on the quality of service with Cingular. I live in Missouri, so if any lives in the midwest, please let me know how's the reception.

Not too much of a stretch, Top two...

I use both they are absolutely comparable biggest decision if I had to drop one is how many people I know of either carrier as both have free calling within network.

Rate plans match,
Customer Service is x10 better with Verizon
Cingular using GSM has better options for phones.

I've used both and currently have Cingular. I live in Iowa and reception is great! I've never dropped calls, they've always been on the other person. I get bars where many other non-Cingular friends don't. When I had Verizon, I dropped calls ALL the time.

Verizon has the better network, better customer service, more flexable policys for price plan changes and equipment upgrades, aswell as a free phone every two years (new every two program)

cingular has better bluetooth functionality on phones and rollover minutes.

Gosh midnightDT. All this better network stuff is no longer a reason to have Verizon. Cingular has proven to be just as Vzw if not better (network wise) Phone wise? Never. Do you really think that Cingular is a bad choice? If so, we need to have you try one of phones and come to a conclusion on your own. 😎

proven to be as good as vzw's by who? telephia? show me one other source that says cingular has the best network (btw telephia doesnt say you have the best network either just the "fewest dropped calls". thats just one aspect of a good wireless network)

I didn't bring Telephia into our late night discussion. When I say that we have a better network, I say it because this is what has been concluded by our field techs after the post network integration tests. Don't worry, soon you'll see this being said publicly. 😉
How's that LG phone working for you? My sister needs an upgrade (from a 3100) Yea, she needs an upgrade immediately. She won't leave Vzw because she's had service with you guys since you were Prime CO. She has a $29.99 plan which she refuses to let go. 😡 Hence she refuses to leave the red check mark.
