motorola v80
I have been a Verizon customer for many years now but I am sick of the lack of phone choices. I just came across the V80 and if anyone knows whether Cingular will carry it or not please let me know, because if so... good bye Verizon, hello Cingular.

Good bye Verizon, hello Cingular. How about goodbye good coverage, hello bad coverage. Why take a risk like that? It's nice to have a cool phone but if it doesn't work, what's the point? It's like buying a Porsche with an oil leak, it may look good on the outside, but it doesn't run worth crap.

Sadly, if you had ever actually used Verizon, you would realize their coverage isn't as good as advertised, but they don't sell phones to 10 year olds.

I have had Verizon for 4 years...not one dropped call, no roaming charges ever...evidently the coverage IS what it's cracked up to be here in the Midwest

just because the coverage is good where YOU are, does not exactly mean that it is good EVERYWHERE...in my hometown, cingular has the ABSOLUTE BEST coverage, lol, your wonderful verizon doesn't pick up anything...it all depends where you are located, you need to shut your mouths about how verizon is so much better than cingular, because that case does not apply EVERYWHERE, you should be able to understand that unless of course you are too immature.

No, the V80 does not have GSM 850, and I'm not aware of a version that will. That makes it incompatible with large parts of Cingular's network.
So they're definitely not going to carry it, but even if you imported it, it wouldn't work on their network in many areas.
The V80 is very cool to look at and play with, but the joystick and soft keys are very poorly designed and difficult to use. I personally wouldn't use it as a day-to-day phone.
