That Verizon and Sprint/Nextel will follow suit with this new upgrade policy. Its not like Cingular is the only carrier that is losing money on these types of customers. If Cingular starts doing it and gets away with it without losing too much steam in the market you better believe Verizon and Sprint will start enforcing their own policies.
Some of these trolls on here will have you believe that the execs at Verizon and Tmobile are these upstanding people that are there to help customers...WRONG! They all want to make money and profits just like Cingular. Just because Cingular was the first carrier to impliment these new policies doesnt mean that the execs at Verizon etc... dont think its a good idea and wont impliment their own polic...

that's why verizon is doing the opposite. Changing their upgrade policy to make it easier and earlier, with no fee. And Prorate ETF, so if we don't keep em happy they leave i don't see an upgrade fee anytime in the near future.

Time will tell... however, they've held on for the last year, and today reported great results for the 2nd quarter of this year.
My opinion is this: It's not about being number one (nothing more than bragging rights). What the execs are looking at in addition to being number one is making the best profit they can. That said, I think it'd be great to be number one and have great profits...

I agree. I work for a VZW Auth. Agent. This is the way the Cell Market works. One company steps out and does something that everyone out there thinks is completely stupid, but before long, everyone else jumps on the bandwagon. My only argument with this is that how can Cingy advertise their "ALL-OVER" network, but kick out their customers for using their phones "All Over"?????
