Upgrade Advice.... they all suck

Im due for an upgrade. Actually, Ive been due for about a month now but the current phone selection is pure garbage. The only one I would consider is the Samsung d807. I wont spend over $200 on a phone.

I've been waiting for the V3i but it just hasnt arrived. It was rumored to land in late June but it never happened.

How much longer should I wait? And which phone would be the best bet. I sort of regret getting my last phone and having a POS for 2 yrs is annoying. This ear peice on this Motorola v400 sucks.

The V3i would be fine. Hopefully they have fixed some of the "issues" the v3 had.

The Krzr looks neat but when the hell will it arrive. There is also the Samsung d807 and the new SE phone thats coming.

Is there a site or li...

the v3i is listed at 8/15/06 if thats what you want then the wait will be good.

another goodie coming is the nokia 6126 on 8/18/06. this puppy will be sweet. no word on pricing for them yet. i have guesses but i wont go there. i can say they both will have rebates (which is rare for an itunes phone 🤨 )

rumor has it the sony ericsson w810 which i've been 🤤 ing over for quite some time will be comeing late mid-late august early september.

3 good devices that wont kill your pockets for what your getting.

Amen to that these phones are going to be great especially for the holiday season. Our store actually got a batch of the v3i's in about 3 weeks ago. We sold out of them fast and have yet to see more. I believe we were a trial to see consumer response levels. We were raping the customer with the price @299.99 but people still bought them. I imagine once i is released later next month it will come down to around 200. I would be weary of the build quality. Moto always says they have "fixed" issues with their phones but tend to create new problems at the same time. I would be much more confident in purchasing the se w810i or the 6126.

same here. you price at 299.99 wa steep but i imagine since they are on the eebate sheet they'll be 299.99 and a $50.00 mail in or 250.00 and a $50.00 mail in.

as much as we all hate moto's problems they are a staple in the industry and evryone still buys them.

im hyped for the w810 and 6126 too.

The v3i is not 'that' great of a phone. Its just a razr with mp3 abaility. Honestly, feature-wise its a pretty ****ty phone. $300 for that pos is a JOKE especially when you consider the Krzr is on the horizon.

The Nokia 6126 is a good phone. It has nice features but the design and look is pretty boring. I think haveing something with a more unique nextgen look would be nice.

The Sony-Ericson that is supposed to come to Cingular soon is nice too. Its got great features and looks pretty cool too. Who knows when though..

Any idea on when the Krazr might actually be available?

Other than those the options right now appear to be an old Razr v3 and the samsung d807. A bunch of my friends have v3 and they always bitch. The screen gets ...

I don't know why they have "crappy" options. I think the current phone line up is fairly diverse and meets the needs of almost every consumer. It is rather unsatisfying to us phone junkies who see the awesomeness overseas and the crap we get though. I am perfectly happy with my nokia 6682 and the only thing I would want more is maybe one of the N-series phones. I think there is a lot of hoops to jump through to get new phones brought here and since a lot of the cool ones are tri-band phones and there isn't a huge market for them in the U.S.A since everyone here is such cheap skates and we use 850mhz the major manufacturers keep their high end products in foreign lands.
I also think that network capabilities play a role in what we receive. ...

The 6682 is still a very nice phone. I've had mine almost a year now, although it has been relegated to being my backup phone for the past 2 months, when I got the SE w810.

The V3i and W810 will both be higher than his $200 limit (funny he wants a killer phone but is not willing to spend for it).

V3i is due out in August and the date is pretty solid. It is going to be over your $200 price requirement though.

i think the lgcu500 is good.
well i hope.

i've had the razr v3i for a couple months and kinda got bored of the whole itunes thing..
( only fun thing is album art )

BUT a positive of the v3i is the screen.. oppossed to the regular v3.. it doesn't collect dust in it... and it's always in my pocket .. and i've had it for months so i can testify for that.

The LGcu500 has cingular's fastest video capabilites...

same features as a v3i, but it is a few mm's thicker.

other than that i decided to upgrade from v3i to lgcu500 because it doesn't have a song cap for the mp3 player.

and it suppossedly has 3d surround speakers so we'll see... how audio quality is... but lg's claimed " 3D surround sound" speakers on their phones for ver...
