Is there any difference between them? What would I be able to do with one of th new ones I can't do now with a 32k one?

Well if it's a 3G one you could use the 3G network where applicable.

Not only will you have better service with a 64K SIM card, but you will also have more memory for things like texts messages and phone numbers...
Have you ever been told that you sound like you are going under water? (while on a call) Well, that's because 32K SIM cards fail to take advantage of the whole Cingular spectrum.

Perhaps this will be useful to you.

I replaced a friend's 32k SIM chip with a 64k one because he upgraded through me. Just for kicks, we decided to try the new SIM card on the old phone since the new one was doing so much better with signal.

His old LG C1300 went from almost no signal (in his basement) to 3-4 bars. This was in Columbia, MD. After that happened, he looked at me like I did some miracle. 🤣

I put a 32K card in a newer phone the other day and the phone stated Limited Service rather than cingular. 😳

I use my 32k SIM in my Nokia 6682 and SE w810 with great service in both. I will not switch to a 64k unless I am forced to.

Ditto, Icyhot.

My 6682 doesn't like 64k's. And I'm not parting ways from it for two weeks to get it flashed so that it does.

I thought the problem was just with the 3G 64k SIM Cards not the 2G ones.

Yes, but where can you get a 2G 64K SIM card nowadays? 👀
BTW have you noticed that the difference between the 2G and the 3G 64k SIM cards is that the gold part on the 3G SIM cards are identical. On the 2G SIM they had different designs to make them unique (snowflakes? I guess) 🤣

I heard the Axalto weren't that good, or as good as a Gemplus.

Yep exactly. I discovered that one when the 6682 first came out and I posted it in the 6682 forum last year. Then someone took my post and put it on mobileburn. And then guys started buying 32k SIM's off EBAY.
