That really stinks, why is this phone ineligible for insurance?
...
Cingular doesn't set policy on what phones are insurable. Lockline insurance does. Generally any phone with an upgadeable memory is non-insurable.
...
I'm not certain of the validity of your statement here, crapbag.
Namely because I have a SLVR and a 6682, both with insurance. I've had to do claims on both, and they gave me the memory card too.
Furthermore, I believe the 807 IS covered by lock/line, and I say that because I had a customer who had the w600, did a claim on it, and they replaced it with a d807, much to his dismay.

Again, if lockline does NOT insure the SLVR, then why did I just do a claim on mine on MONDAY, this week.
Your list is clearly outdated. I've also had customers in my store calling in a claim on SLVR's more than two weeks ago.
Given that a SLVR is apparently uninsurable, and I have it insured, and I've had it replaced, I would buy a D807 if I wanted it, and insure it, and if something happened, I'd bet money on it being replaced.
...
Like I said before The will insure ANY phone that has pre-existing insurance on it. ONE AND ONLY ONE TIME!! They will also tell you if the rep that does the claim isn't a complete idiot that this is the last claim you can do on this phone and you no longer qualify for insurance just as after making your 2nd claim in one year will do the same.
...
Um, this is your first post on this thread. You didn't say anything "before".
Lol.
...
Interesting, this list looks a lot like my list!
...
I'm sure your RAE gave you that list off of the Cingular website and claimed it to be internal or something like that haha 🤣
...
Sneaky aren't they! 🤣

I do have to tell you the eFFFFFFED up thing about lockline. About 2 months ago I tried myself and succeeded in contactin one of their regional managers. I trying to obtain the exact criteria on which makes a phone uninsurable was told that cingular(by him) decides which are insurable and which are not. Then I contacted a supervisor at cingulars customer care who told me that lockline determines this. So in actuallity We have absolutely no clue what criteria determines this. I do know which phones are and are not as per the list CRAPBAG gave. We can only guess the criteria. But like I said before I think it all has to do with what phones are made available to lockline via Cingular-Direct.
...
Basically, if lockline can get the phone or anything similar it is uninsurable. even so If you are one of cingulars Quote un-quote Profitable customers as per their new upgrade policy they will go the extra mile on insuring any phone for you. But in all cases this is a ONE-time allowance.
...
Why would lockline decide that some phones are not eligible if they are with Cingular, but the same modle phone with another carrier is?
Example. The Treo 650 is insurable through Verizon, but apparantly not with Cingular. They both use lockline.
...
because lockline with Verizon is $1 more
...
cingular sets policy on what phones are covered. if not then why can you go to another carrier that has lockline and have same phones insured thru lockline.
...
When I purchased mine they said that it was insurable. Its not like it is a super high end or expensive phone.
...
Expense of a phone has no effect on which phones are insurable and which are not. Here is the criteria that I have come up with. Any UMTS/HSDPA Phones are not insurable. Any phone with expandable memory not equiped with an OEM memory card. ANY PHONES with ITUNES because a conflict of interest with apple software. NOT all smart-phones are uninsurable. Such as 6682 which is not a actual smart-phone/pocket pc, and comes with an OEM memory card. This criteria is because of Cingular not lockline. It has to do with which phones they will offer lockline as being REFURBISHED. Contrary to popular belief you WILL ALLWAYS get a refurbished phone when making an insurance claim. And wheather or not lockline has a PIB(phone in box) on any phone, or the av...
