Sorry if this is a total noob question....If I buy an unlocked phone that is compatable with cingulars system (nokia n73) how do i go about getting a sim card for it? I also want to be able to subscribe to many features such as internet access, text and picture message, etc......

Thanks

If you already have Cingular service, you just pop your existing SIM into the phone. If you don't have service yet, just go to a store and sign up, let them know u already have a phone(it'll save you from having to buy one).

As far a using the internet/sms/picture mess (and all the other features) just go to the nokia website, and click support. Select Cingular and the phone model you have. It'll send the settings to your phone to download (once you have service). You are also able to configure the settings manually from that same site. I suggest you just get them text messaged to you, it's so much easier.

Hope this helped...

If you want text/mms/internet, you'll have to have them added to your acct.

Where are you from? Email me at the address in my contact info..

That's ok.. Nokia will still provide the settings even if the phone isn't a Cingular branded phone.

I actually went crazy trying to get another unlocked nokia phone working for a customer... I called our tech dept at Cingular and he told me about the Nokia website... I've yet to find it for another manufacturer though ☹️

Also if you use this phone, you have the option of no contract, but if you want the mobile to mobile feature, you have to do at least a 1 year contract, or pay an extra 9.99 for the mobile to mobile feature.

it seems that unlocked Nokia's will have some issues with MMS. Even with the correct settings I could not get Video MMS, though I could send and recieve pictures and such.
