To clarify, Cingular DOES still offer 1 year contracts correct?

A friend went to a cingular corporate store a few weeks ago to get a new phone and they made her sign a 2 year, said 1 year contracts arent available anymore.

If thats true ill never get a new phone from cingular directly. I think she might have had to cause she was still in her 2 year contract and upgraded early?

i dunno what she got, i know she got a new phone early, dunno how early.

I had a 1 year that expired in Jan, will they let me do another 1 year? What does that do to a phone price compared to a 2 yr

your friend got an exceptional upgrade. This means that she paid the 1 yr commitment price for her phone with another two yr contract.

But me being out of contract, i can sign a 1 year? What does that do to the phone price compared to a 2 year?

Previously, because of the company i work for, i get 18% off my bill and the phone at the 2 year price on a 1 year contract, but i dont think that works anymore. I got this right when att and cingular merged, so i think they changed it since.

You can still get a 1 year contract.

And for the record, it's "exception" upgrade. Not "exceptional".

It's also "FAN", not "FAN number". "BAN", not "BAN number". "PIN", not "PIN number".

You get my point...

That is correct. Most likly she did an "exception upgrade". A 2 year agreement is required, one year is not an option.

thats what i figured. I was just curious cause my bro asked me to go on his sprint plan but i use too many minutes and their text messaging is expensive so i dont think i want to, but if cingular is going to make me do a 2 year contract eventually then i might just do it. How about phone prices on 1 year?
