Take lots of drugs. You will need them when you start dealing with crazy rude mean evil customers like Bob....

I have found in my almost two years working for Cingular that the ONE thing that SUBSTANTIALLY improved my sales were Starbucks Doubleshots.

Get the cingular longsleeve black shirt and the orange jack tie ASAP... wear it with a black belt and black pants. Get an MPX 220 on a holster and wear a jabra BT250 that is paired with it. You'll look like such a baller that people will drool at your footsteps.

"You need Media Max 1000?"
"Why yes... yes.... oh yes, I do...."

LOL Ash, Nice, however...

I've found the approach of purchasing odd colored Cingular shirts, (baby blue and apple green, namely), and then when customers come in, see a sea of employees in black or orange shirts, they always wanna go with the guy with the different colored shirt.

Ties? Who needs em. I just rock the polos. But bluetooth headsets do work, and so does having a very high tech phone.

Just don't get the bright orange polo. That one hurts customers eyes.

I wear the Cingular sweater vests in winter.

Pros: You work for a very successful company that isn't going anywhere, so you're unlikely to ever lose your job to downsizing. Yay job security! The products & service are, while far from perfect, are also far from terrible - Cingular is a great service provider to many people all over the country. You're coming aboard after the AT&T wireless merger (not to be confused with the upcoming name change to AT&T wireless), which eliminates a lot of hassle that some of us old "Blue" folk have had to deal with. They don't pay terribly, and depending on your dept, benefits are pretty good.

Cons: The service isn't particularly great, and depending on the competition in your area, it can be a hard sell to convince someone to pay much more for se...
