Well it's still showing up on the website, so 3 possible things:
a) It's still available
b) The Website has not been updated
c) It's only available online now
It's going to be taken out of TelePOS II tonight! so I figure they will take it out of the website tonight as well, and yes, I work for Cingular, and I know for sure now. It is discontinued!

Just my 2 cents.

Wait I thought the v600 was a goldmine for Cingular?
Why would they pull it?

When I was at a Cingular store the other day, I heard that Moto V600 is being replaced by V620, which is basically an upgraded version that adds a few extra gizmos to the already feature-rich V600 platform, plus they are also getting a Moto V551, which is also nice.

One thing you guys are forgetting is that the v620 has not even been FCC approved yet. That means it has a 5% chance of even coming out this year. So your reasoning does seem too plausible
Yes, it looks like V620 may be years away, for all I care. I, personally, have had my share of Motorola recent probl..., I mean, phones (T720c, V600, V710 - argh), so I'm looking for a change. SonyEricsson T637 is neat, works great and I might just keep it, or I might upgrade to a new Nokia when it comes out. No more Motorola for me (at least, not for a while) 😁

I read that the v600 withdrawal had to do with Bluetooth enabled phones being susceptible to hacking. Apparently hackers devised a way to steal virtually all information on a Bluetooth enabled phone.
So then why just cingular? And why didnt they pull out the T637 too?

no. it was due to an RF pproblem with the antenna

I bet that artcile was written either by michael moore or any of his relatives. After all, we all know just how true his fahrenhet 911 movie is right?

I have not seen any written proof from the US Government which rebuts the statements that were made by Michael Moore in the movie...if you know where I can find these documents...online or otherwise...please reply and give me where I can find them...otherwise how can you say with 100% certianty that he made it all up...
Give me your e-mail address, I'll forward you what I got. I'm no Bush lover by any means but all I was saying in reference to the v600 being discontinued is it's as credible and liberal a move as this Fahrenheit 911 movie.

Its not that it is 100% made up. Anyone can minipulate the truth. See, if there were a propaganda firm made about any politician, it would make them look horrible. You can turn the truth into anything you want it to be. He has the right to make that film, But he has to realize that by doing so, he is forcing his opinion on people that really dont follow any of this stuff.
but Bush being a douchebag is the truth. 😉

Actually Drama, The new V710 does carry launch codes. Didnt you hear what the Verizon Guys have been saying. I heard they werent even looking for Weapons of Mass Destructionl in IRAG. Bush just wanted the V710 prototype.

It's been affectionately dubbed Bluesnarfing (reminds me of that Thundercat's character Snarf) and basically what they do is use the BT connection to look at and transfer info on your phone to thier BT device. The BT SIG is workin on ways to prevent this, but as of now it's unavoidable. The good news is that you still have to be in the 30 ft. BT range in order to do this, and even if someone does it leaves the info on your phone intact. You never knew it happened.
So unless you store SUPER SECRET gov't info on your phone (Like I do) there's no need to worry about it on a handset.

Note that S/E and Nokia phones are cited as the most vulnerable!!!
hackers do that crap becasue they can. Not becasue they really need someone's phonelist or ringers.
Ho Hum....The flexibility and convienience of BTis well worth the "security" risk.
Everyone knows BT has a short usable distance. I would guess if one were that nervous about their phone list they would not be using BT in Airports where (if it were true) the hacker would have the best opportuniy to steal someone's girlfriend's phone ...

Sheesh! I'm not worried... When getting a Bluetooth phone, simply make sure that the Bluetooth implementation in your phone is good and complete! 😎
