Ok so I have a dillema on my hands. I was a former ATT employee and i had a dependant line that i didnt switch over to an erp because it was activated as a demo and it was unlimeted everything for free. It was cancelled on the 17th because i passed the deadline and they actually did what they said they were this time☹️ neways i need to keep that number. heres the kicker, im leaving the company on september 5th. any ideas how i could have this number reactivated on a regular rate plan??

9. NUMBER ASSIGNMENT AND RETENTION
9.1 The mobile number issued for a DEMO line will be assigned at random and will be retained by Cingular Wireless. There will be no preference given in obtaining “easy” or “special” numbers.
9.2 Employees leaving the Company or those no longer eligible for a DEMO line must surrender the COU mobile number back to the Company.
9.3 Under no circumstances will the DEMO line be ported out to another carrier.

Sorry man, I no it's not the answer you were looking for.

I understand that but heres the thing. It was my personal dependant line under my name. it was just accidentlly activated under the demo plan and not the original 300 minute plan for $9.99 that i asked for. everything on it has my name on the account. any other suggestions?

If it's an ERP line, that's different than a COU line.

ERP's can be transferred to a regular rate plan, in your name.

COU numbers remain cingular property and will more than likely be re-assigned to someone else, it could even be put on a store display phone.

if it was accidently turned into a COU line then you wont be able to keep it...legally...cuz like he said cingular keeps all their COU numbers, the only think i can think of is maybe try to get in touch with the COU people and see if they can make an exception.

It wasnt "turned" into a COU line. It was just activated under the old att demo plan but the acount was still a dependat account.

When I left the company, I went into telegence and moved both my ERP's and my COU to a consumer family plan. It has been 4 months now and Cingular never contacted me. I know its against company policy but what were they going to do fire me?

Don't know what help this may be but when I left Cingy they would absolutely not let me keep my COU number, no matter what (but this number was not in my own name as yours appears to be).

just an fyi, i got the southeast erp team to reactivate my number and migrate it to orange. wasnt that bad at all besides the fact that i was without the line for about 5 days. and even better news is that they said i only have 25 days left on the contract so when i switch to a consumer plan i can keep the contract because im just changing plans and not upgrading. 😎

well then don't change it to a "promo" rate plan cause then you will have to renew for at least a year
