N80 for Cingular - Release date

Does anyone know for sure if this phone will be released by Cingular? I'm debating if I should wait or go ahead and buy an unlocked version, but with the unlocked, I won't have access to 3G speeds with Cingular.....

Thanks,

You may want to wait for the cingular version, because the unlocked version have UMTS on the 1900 and 2100 MHz bands. I think it hasn't come out because Cingular told nokia they wanted to release the phone with the 850 UMTS band. So they are working on this.

I've heard that is the case too - Cingular requested Nokia take it back and release the phone with 850 UTMS band, but I'm not sure if that is true or not. If it is true, then I'll definitely wait. I just need bonified confirmation that Nokia and Cingular will be releasing this for Cingular's network in the near future.

Thanks!

If you buy the unlocked version, it works on UTMS 2100 mghz, and Cingular's 3G is on 1900 mHZ, therefore the 3G data speeds are incompatible.

It'll work on the voice network, but the 3G data network will not work.

Ok I was thinking of another phone. Cingular will never carry this phone. They refuse to carry any great phones. VZW's phone lineup as long since surpassed Cingular.

Chillax dude! They are coming. I know we are going through a weird period in which it seems like there are no phones coming down the pipes... but believe me... once they start popping left and right Vzw will go back to its place in the phone dept.
Verizon had a 3 month period in which no phones were released Mar -(late) June. That's when all their latest phones started to get released... Same thing will happen with us.

The Treos Nitro & Lennon are just around the corner... We just have to be patient and chillax!!!

I got a w810 so I dont really care what Cingular does. I'll always buy my phones unlocked. They can release all the RAZR's that they wanna. And I've yet to see a Treo that was worth anything.

I just ordered my w810i the demo pics from the camera look amazing. I'm with you on the razr though. It is so stupid. People only like because they can't remember a model number but they can remember a name like the razr/slvr. I think the new treos will be pretty stellar though even though I like htc's products better anyways.

If all goes well, and I get over 1k in commission in this next paycheck like I did last paycheck, I will most likely be purchasing an unlocked w810i as well.

Granted, I want the N80 more than anything, but for the price, you simply CAN NOT BEAT the unlocked w810i for $299 plus shipping. I mean the N80 is double the price.

We shall see shortly.
