3G Nokia

I live in Houston and 3G has been rolled out since the early phases. I don't know whether I should buy an unlocked Nokia N80 smartphone that is quad band (850, 900, 1800, 1900) for voice calling , but is not compatible with Cingular's 3G network because the phone is built with 2100 mghz (Europe's 3G network) or wait and HOPE that Cingular carries this phone later this year (if I'm lucky).....

So, I guess I'm trying to determine if I really need the 3G downloads speeds or if EDGE will be enough for me......

From what I heard, the phone is awesome and works perfectly fine under Cingular's network. Just not 3G data download capabilities.....

Anyone with this phone - please give me your two cents (or anyone else too)...

Thanks,

I would wait to see if Cingy will be carrying it. $500 + is alot of money to spend and not be able to use 3G when it is available. I have experienced Edge speeds & 3G - the two don't even compare;3G is far superior.

I would wait. My co-worker has it. Everything works well but the battery life. Unless you can get it for cheap it isn't worth the $500 plus unless you are a total baller. 🙂
