Number Porting Question

Gentlemen and Ladies,

I am planning on signing a new contract with Cingular - never had an account with Cingular before. My father will be cancelling his Cingular account, and I was wondering if I could somehow get a new account with a new number for myself, and then get rid of my new number and have cingular give me his old number. (taking over his plan is not an option).

Thanks for your input.

from what i understand the only way possible of doing this is having him give the whole entire account to you..if thats not an option you may not get his number.. ☚ī¸ it cost just 18 dollars to do this transaction and may include a credit check..unfortunatly i have found no other way of doing this..i know its not the answer you wanted..perhaps other have heard of another option however i am sad to say if anyone else post they will say the same as me..i have looked extensively in to this. (wanted to keep my moms number and change her to my account so she doesnt have to pay anymore) i hope someones of more help but this is all ive found out..
