Phone Testing

After seeing all the push backs and delays releasing new phones I am left to ask. Has Cingular changed its phone testing regulations? Are the phones now more rigorously tested? I mean, come on! How long does it really take to test and fix whatever issues the 6126, v3i had...
I am not complaining about the delays, as long as the phone is released without any bugs or problems. Now, if the phone turns out to be a lemon after all this "testing" then I am going to be pissed. 😡

I would assume part of it is the manufacturer making revisions to the phone so that testing can continue. I'm not sure how quick they are to respond to a carrier's request in changes.
