midi converter

does anyone know a good system or tool that can convert mp3's to midi format.

I think I google searched this awhile back when I had my 6820, and I think it's impossible.

In fact, I'm fairly certain of this. That, or it's practically impossible. And requires all sorts of stuff.

Converting an mp3 to midi wouldn't sound too hot either. I haven't researched this in a looong while, but I think there are only 16 tones that can be played at once using midi. It may even be less than that.

There's no reason to have to convert mp3s to midis either when there are MILLIONS of them out there on the web to use too. I've got bazillions of them from old nintendo games on my phone that people always freak out about when hearing. This week it's Ridge Racer. Next week, I'm thinking Maniac Mansion.

The midi's rock man! I have a webpage bookmarked on my PDA that I'll post on here tomorrow (I don't have that phone on me today) that has a lot of midi's.

I believe db power amp will do it, and it is freeware to boot

i know the feeling my old phone i had to use midi... but you don't actually want to convert you only want the file association to change from .mp3 to .midi i found a way to do this a while ago but can't remeber where. sorry
