there is one coming later this year... that's a moto thing, not cingular... they paid someone else to do the chipset for the cdma version... but they haven't quite gotten the chip set right for edge... and the one being released later this year will be hsdpa.

i agree it is a motorola thing, and i kno that the maxx is launching with hsdpa speeds. all im saying is that the V3i is worth nowhere near 300 bucks esp not with a 2 yr contract. the phone should cost 99.99. and yes, i do blame cingular for the 300 price tag on a phone which was released a year ago.

if your willing to dish out the 300 for the v3i, then i would just get the 8125, it pretty much has everything the v3i has plus more, and yes it's actually worth the cost (mp3 player? web browsing? tivo sync? touch screen?)

and how long did cingular have the original v3 before pulverizon released theirs??? cingular is not slipping, by no means... oh, except that whole dropped call thing. they do have fewer of those than pulverizon... and, what about pulverizons claim for best network, they are slipping there. cingular will have more than 50% of best network claims in the top 100 markets by years end...

Why is cingy slipping? Slipping because they wanted to make sure alot of bugs were worked out so customers didnt experience many problems?(even tho its moto cust still will)

Great point.

Anyone here that wants to dispute that head on over to the Verizon forum and browse their posts on this subject.

Launch early and have problems or launch late with less/no problems. Other than being fried on the message boards (something that only folks here care about) that was the right thing to do.

i called my cingular store, and they said theyve had their V3is for a couple of days now. im in central jersey. i asked for pricing, and the guy said 230 after a 50 dollar mail in rebate.

i also have a question for you guys. what is that number that u dial to check up on ur phone serial number. i kno when i call warranty exchange, the guy is gonna ask me to do that. i think it started with a * .
