Benefit of Nokia Software Update
What does the Software Update actually contain? What benefits does it provide?

It allows you to update the software using your own computer as opposed to having to send it away to Nokia and wait for it to get sent back.
EX: My 6682's software hasn't been updated since I bought the phone. I talked to my Nokia rep about getting it updated, and she said it would take 2-3 weeks to fully process it.
I didn't feel like living without it for that long, so I said no. They came out with this, and I did it myself. It took me about ten minutes.

But if you buy a new phone, wouldn't the software have been updated already??
Is the software update for updating compatibility issues with carrier specific issues (i.e. Cingular) and unlocked phones??
