i have the 8125 and up until now i was not able to use the phone and surf the internet at the same time but now i am. as far as i know 3g is not ava in this area until later on this year. october the earliest. just wondering why is this ava now. does this mean 3g is ava in this area.

that really wouldn't matter. the 8125 isn't UMTS/HSDPA. It's GSM/GPRS/EDGE, which doesn't have the capability to be online during a voice call. i'm in the 3g market and my 8125 doesn't do both at the same time. that's interesting. are you sure to actually navigating to new pages while in a voice call? it's kinda impossible with the equipment you have.

that what i figured, i also thought that it was using wifi. verified it was not. it was connected to my laptop and i think that is how it was surfing.

Since when has it? GSM/GPRS/EDGE will not allow you to surf the web while in a voice call. you can text but no internet. That's why you don't recieve emails while you're on the phone on blackberry's or any goodlink device. That's another huge positive for UMTS/HSDPA. Voice and Data at the same time.

Those who work at Cingy can verify, but you probably got an OTA update to your settings. It's my understanding that if your data settings call for the right channel, there's no reason voice and data can't coexist.
