Unlimited Txt/Pic Anytime Soone?
Do I agree with this study... not so much. But when these researchers present this information to Cingular's marketing, they come to a conclusion that having any unlimited packages would be pointless. 🙄
I would say 35% of my customers and friends/ family are sending more than 1000 messages. And of that 5% are exceeding 3000
I think Cingular has a more mature market of customers, as opposed to T-Mobile.... meaning that the age of users are older with us than T-Mobile.
I called Sprint the other day (I still have a plan with them.... yikes!) because I wanted to go back to unlimited text messaging and they don't offer it anymore either. The highest they offer now are 3000 texts, just linke Cingular, for about the same price.
If anything, I would look for T-Mobile and the smaller companie...

T-Mo just added unlim sms a year ago, so I don't see them discontinuing it again anytime soon. They'd had it in 2003 and discontinued it then. I'm guessing it was added again due to high demand.

I actually looked it into this and asked alot of reps and tech supports, also looking into records and why. They use to have an unlimited text plan, they pulled it out for 2 reasons. Part of the reason was because of the revenue and the 5% study. Besides, if you seriously use more than 3000 text a month, that means you text at least 100 a day? sounds like an unhealthy obession to me lol
Unhealthy. Maybe. Do cust's do it? Yes. I saw a bill once (T-Mo) for a cust who'd had 35k sms in one month, before we offered u...

LOL.... I went over my text plan for a couple of months! I was on the 3000 text and went over around 6000 texts!!! 🙄
That's what this customer usually did, went over by a few thousand texts, so, get this. She's upset about her bill and demands to speak to a sup, who graciously decides to credit her all the up to what she USUALLY went over per month. The sup decides we're not getting all that money back either way, may as well just eat it and keep the customer happy. Customer hangs up, relieved that she will not be paying a several hundred dollar phone bill due to SMS. Then becomes greedy, and calls back demanding to have ALL her SMS overage credited back. At which point the firs...
