Well, this is interesting, my phone has spontaniously decided my SIM card isn't a SIM card.

It was working fine last night, I did drop it, but it was fine immediately after... I wake up this morning and it's demanding that I "Insert SIM".

It's a Samsung D407.

Any ideas what the problem could be?

Same thing happened to me and my razor last week, I just took it to a cingular store and got the card replaced.

Sometimes they fail to read. Pull it out, wipe it off, blow out the contacts, then stick it back in. If it still doesn't work, then you'll probably just need a new one. Try the other stuff first to save gas if you can.

Yeah, after I made this topic, I took the card out, put it back in, still didn't work. So I grabbed my old x427, put the old card from there into the D407, and the phone at least recognized that as a SIM card, although it obviously wouldn't let me make calls. Then I tried the current SIM in the x427, and it told me I had a "SIM ERROR".

I'd say it was narrowed down pretty definitively at that point.

Got a new card now, no problem.

In other news, I love almost everybody at that one mall kiosk. You guys realize how rare it is for mall kiosk salespeople to be awesome? One in a million, I tell ya.
