what's up with insurance going up to 4.99?
and why do our new readers say asurion on the bottom of them? did lockline and cingular seperate or something?
i remember a while back there was talk of an asurion and lockline buyout/merger. is this the case?

You have insurance on two lines?
Lockline has never been a part of Cingular, they just do the insurance for us. The price increase was on their part to bring it more in line with the rising cost of equipment. Of course, the cost of equipment is inflated by the carriers so that's kind of a stupid point for me to make anyway.
I activated a customer today with his own equipment. I love those customers. They come to us because they want our service, not because we have a "free phone."

lock\line and Asurion have merged. The insurance process remains the same as it was prior to the merger. It's a $1 more starting in November, but will cover more phones.

The other new stipulation is insurance can only be added within the first thirty days of a phones purchase. no more coming in six months later and adding insurance.
