New Activation away from home
OK all you Cingular/Best Buy gurus....I have a question. I am being transferred to another state. My current state doesn't have Cingular, but my new home will. I have decided to get three Cingular lines of service and Best Buy has a special running right now: 2 LG1200 phones for $49.95 after rebates and a 2 year contract. I have contacted the Best Buy at my current location and they are unable to help since they don't offer Cingular. I have contacted the Best Buy at my new location and they say I need to register in person to qualify.
Is there any way I can register for service at my new location without being there in person? The ad expires tomorrow (8/7)...any ideas would be appreciated!

call the cingular relocation dept at 1.800.826.7356, they should be able to help with you there......

I don't think the relocation department can help unless you have an existing line with Cingular. If you have an address that you will be using or a neighbor or friend in the same area, you can order the phones through Telesales. The phones have to be shipped to the address that you we are licensed to sell service (FCC rule). One additional note, you will not need to be in your new "home" area to activate the phones, but the phones will have to reach a Cingular tower to get the Over the Air activation information.
