For V600 customers

Attention all:

IF you or any of your customers have a V600 that has crapped out, there is a number that Cingular has established due to the massive recall. The number is 800-201-6235. There are 30 Cingular reps that are dedicated to this problem.

I called in yesterday to report my problematic phone, and here is what they did for me. They are overnighting me a New V400 to use, free of charge. They are also throwing in a complementary ear piece to use for the phone that I get to keep, for the trouble.

I will recieve a text message when a new V600 will be available and will sent to me at no charge. All I have to do is send my defective V600 in the postage paid envelope.

Really cool deal for you and your customers. DO not send custom...

So if I wait until the V551 comes out and then send in my V600, will they send me one of those instead? (Since it's basically replacing the V600)

Probably not. The V551, if Cingular picks it up, won't be out until the 4th quarter. I would figure around the end of October. A new V600 is a new V600.

Motorola has found the issue, and is ready to repair it. I would expect to wait perhaps 2-3 weeks, as they have quite a few coming back.

Which just means you'll have more problems. Check out the failures per 1000 sold. Nokia gets blown out of the water by Motorola. Been that way for years...

I called today and chose to keep my V600 until they have the replacement. My BMW has bluetooth built in and I wanted to be able to continue using it. The rep said for me to call in Sept and they will send me one then I will send my old phone back.
