Sounds like they may have snuck a Verizon (or Sprint because they can't do it either) in on this phone.

I know on the LG CG300 you cant send files, but can use bluetooth as a hands free. I HATE THAT! Freakin stupid, i hope this isnt the road to crippled bluetooth phones...

Yes Cingular crippled that one. Only one to my knowledge, as of yet. They may have done it to the Sammy too. Verizon does it to all their phones, and my brief experience with Sprint leads me to believe they do it also.

Just because a phone does not handle OBEX does not mean it was crippled by Cingular. No where does LG state this phone (CG300) can do that in the first place.

Crippled phones came about because the manufacturer would state a phone was capable of said feature yet the carrier ordered that phone with said feature turned off.

Easy, Big Aristotle. Memo to Tex - Cingular is not perfect, no matter how much you try and project them to be.

I said nothing about being anything. You made an ignorant statement and I countered said ignorant statement. You don't like my reponse? Stop beating your chest about mistruths. Ask a Verizon customer what real cripled bluetooth is all about. Stop assuming because a phone doesn't have a feature that the carrier cripled it. Sometime the manufacturer just wants to be cheap!

The LG CG300 just flat out didn't support OBEX and it looks like the C417 is the same. It's gotta have the OBEX profile in bluetooth to transfer files. As for if Cingy did it or the manufacturer, it's hard to say since only Cingy carries those two phones.

Just look on the phone profiles on this site here. If they say OBEX then it'll work, if not, it wont.
