i dropped my cu500 at work and half the screen doesnt work.

what's my best option.??

1. call lockline and be without a phone for maybe a week and pay 50 bucks.

2. or go through warranty.. but i dont know how the long the warranty process will take..

The cu500 isn't covered by insurance.

You'll need to get a new phone and pay retail for it.

Wow. What is Cingular/Lockline/Asurion doing, only providing insurance on the free/basic/cheap phones??

I dunno who's call it is, but basically.
No PDAs or smartphones, no phones with iTunes, or any of the more expensive new phones. Apparently they just added the 807. The insurance company may just be waiting for the cost to drop before they'll carry replacements.

Yeah but the LG doesn't fall into any of the categories you mentioned. I guess it was too "high end" for them to insure. I personally don't and wouldn't have insurance because I wouldn't want a phone they insure. They should charge insurance based on the value of a phone, just like they do your car or house. Just my opinion though..

The wholesale cost on the 500 is still up there, so I understand that.

I wish they had different tiers of insurance prices for different costs of phones.

I think they will soon have to re-evaluate their insurance policies, or else people will no longer carry it. More and more people are switching to feature laden phones (my opinion) and these are the phones that aren't currently insured so I do think changes need to be made, and that doesn't just include raising the premiums for everyone. We shall see if it happens.

You either need to buy a new or pay to have it repaired. The handset is not insurable nor is it a warranty issue if you drop it and break it. The warranty covers manufacturers defects. Sorry but butterfingers is not a defect.

yeaaaaaaaa

that's kinda dumbbb..

i didn't know the phone was "uninsurable"
i've been paying for the insurance since
i got it back three months ago.

"butterfingers" is kinda lame.. the fall was maybe 2 feet max.. a phone shouldn't break from 2 feet.

i dropped it while i was sitting at lunch and someone asked to see it and it fell off the table.

there's something about quality....

i just bought a new one :|
