The new AT&T?????????
I was watching TV last night and saw a commerical about the new AT&T. Of course we all knew this was going to happen and have heard different dates on when it was going to happen, but they started on AT&T Wireless. Does anyone know if Cingular will keep their branding when this all ties in together?
...
The ad actually mentions AT&T Wireless?
...
yes, and I've heard from bellsouth and other employees that are concerned with the matter different stories on the matter on the branding. Some say it will remain but probably change,. No one that I talk to can give me a close answer.
...
Cingular will no longer be Cingular. We will be branded as ATT Wireless once everything goes through. The reason is that the majority of the world know ATT by name, so it's more of an advantage to continue with a name most people know.
...
as a former cingular employee and current bellsouth employee, i have a lot of inside info on this, and there is not yet a decision on rebranding cingular wireless, there will not be one till after the first of the new year.. everything i have heard is that they will keep the cingular name for wireless operations, too much bad blood for the former "at&t wireless".. which was not owned by at&t anyways...
...
that "bad Blood" was what I was afraid of if they changed the branding. Thank you so much for shinning some light on my question. I wish they would let us in on more than they do.

According to our "intranet" which is only accessable from inside the work place, instead of my-cingular homepage, it will be ATT Wireless intranet homepage.... So that leads me to believe we will no longer be Cingular and renamed again to ATT Wireless.
Day of close:
Employees will receive an e-mail with a link to a new AT&T intranet site that includes welcome messages and more.
Employees in customer-facing positions will have access to questions and answers for customers through Merger Zone, a special section on CSP.
First business day after close:
AT&T leaders will visit Cingular's Atlanta-Glenridge Highlands headquarters building for a celebratory event.
The event will be videotaped and shared with all Cingular employe...

i thought the buyout of AT&T proper was to make at&t/cingular one company?
sort of like verizon and verizon wireless but at&t will have 100% ownership of at&t wireless. ๐คจ

We're changing names man. It's official despite and "inside info." It's been passed down to every store from our bosses bosses bosses boss. Rebranding will go down.
You're going to see a much more integrated at&t next year, and please notice that we're using the lowercase at&t now. ๐
