i really need a FSAT WM5 smartphone with a QWERTY..and not the 8125

cingular is really starting to let me down. They make so many promises, and announcements that all have been turning out to be false...i dont know what to do... 😕

And why don't you want the 8125?

Cingular hasn't made any announcements about new phones that have not come true. They don't announce new phones specifically to avoid that type of scenario.

yeah but ive seen rebate forms with phones not yet released on them that have expired already, as well as numerous forums saying this phone will be released on this date and so on...im not accusing cingular..im just getting a little impatient

the 8125 isn't that bad, but i had it before and had nothing but issues with it locking up, freezing to the point where i had to remove the battery and restart the phone...

well on the september rebate for the 6900 series HP was on there, and on the october form there was the 8525 Hermes. Both of which we have seen nothing but overpriced unlocked versions

So Cingular did not announce anything, just wanted to clear that up.

In what region did you see the rebate form? Do you work for or sell Cingular?

No, im just a customer in the Los Angeles region. I downloaded the form from my account on their website, it was on an adobe format and those 2 phones were listed. Sorry didnt mean to say that cingular announced anything, they really didnt. But hints were given to earlier releases, and still theres nothing. I just wonder what november has to offer?

Well, I've sold dozens of the 8125 through my 3 stores with no more issues than with the HP. Bird in the hand so to speak.

Coming soon... no concrete dates (as to avoid what happened previously).

You will never hear an "official" release date until the phones are shipping from the warehouse... (or in the process of shipping).

Those phones were put on the rebate forms (that my store uses) because "internally" they could have come out providing they cleared the FCC and inventory in the warehouse was at expected levels... If they weren't on the form, they would have had to release an updated form which could cause confusion.

Just a word of advice... don't take everything you see on this forum, or any forum for fact.. always verify with an official source. I have (in the past) put phones up on this site with an expected launch date (a practice I've stopped some time ago when dates weren't met).

There are always "hints" out there if you look at them, but for actual dates, no one can say until Cingular says so...

Sorry if I ranted on you... but this is a ...

I wanna point out that the 8525 does have a faster processor in it. That was the main complaint about the 8125, so they changed it. That and the 750 should be out this year.

I've seen a lot of problems with the 8125 in the Indianapolis area. I honestly don't understand what is keeping Cingular from releaseing a 3g QWERTY phone. I know our market has a huge demand for them.

What other stuff have they been doing? I've set up over 30 of them and haven't really had any issues other than email sync.

*white screen when opened
*no connection to internet
*no connection to basic email servers
*failure to sync to pc

etc...

All of these problems were the fault of the phone and not the customer or their networks. I've never like the phone much.

i agree with all of that...also the processor killed it...i guess they were fixing most of these issues with the 8525. When it will be released, i dont know, but its anticipated...and i wantr one pretty badly
