I tried to use my phone from 5:00 to 10:00 and the network was busy. I couldn't send or receive calls or data. Cingular is the WORST company out there. I would not recommend them to anyone!

besides, what about all those ppl who tried calling their loved ones during 9/11 to say their goodbyes, and their phones didnt work? 5 hours can be a big deal in a time of emergency, and u dont know her circumstances, so i would assume anything.

Why do you have to bring 9/11 into this, because it's the terrorists fault that she couldn't get service? 5 hours is not that big of a deal. it's saturday, businesses are closed for the most part and most likely the calls you will be making are personal and usually pointless. since you are paying for service i understand you expect to make and recieve calls all the time, but the network being busy can occur on any network. it's not just cingular.

Five hours out of a day is an awefull long time to be without your cellular device. If my cable were down for 5 hours i would be calling in for reiburcement. I would say it is more than legitament for april to be upset, regardless of what would or could happen on another carriers service.

And April why did you not get service, where where you, what phone do you have? what sim card do you have? did you power cycle your phone? all these are relevant questions to find out why you could not make calls. This seems kind of strange. Did you go into a local location and ask if service in the area was down at the moment? They would still be able to tell you if there was a tower outage that affected you ability to call. I have had the network busy message before but it usually only lasts for a short period of time, say 1-2 minutes.

so is this 5:00AM-10:00AM? Most people aren't up at 5:00AM...or was it 5:00PM from the day before??? And you got network busy, and no data? is that data as far as text or media net? did you try to power your phone off and back on? where you in a tunnel 5 miles below ground? and if you were out that long, did it occur to you at some point to either a) call customer care or b) go into a store or c) ask anyone else if they were having trouble???

In my area, Verizon is the only one to have backup generators at all cell sites. Other carriers (cingular) have backup batteries but some of their locations don't even have that.
The latest example would be the earthquake in Hawaii.

I agree that part sucks so cingular get your sh*t together so I can port. I was very disappointed to here that cingular has finished integration and they are still very sub-par in my area.
